We need player's ideas as to how to run these contests – GT, SSB, BBHP.  How could we change the format, prizes, criteria, etc…?  One idea we have gotten from multiple GT players is to run a contest that utilizes player's average from each GT '09 course.  We would love to run a contest like that, but it doesn't currently work for us logistically (our software program can't handle that, but we hope to change that…).

Any feedback is appreciated…

Can you get single hole stats?  I always thought it would be cool to have a contest for the most GSPs for a single shot.

HIOs is good, though, because it doesn't really favor any single course too much.

Perhaps something like IT did when they used to run their qualifiers. Top 20 scores on each course. Best average of those 100 games. That would limit the “course whoring.”

Aces, Eagles and Birdies are always good as well as GSPs and GTPs.

How about shortest putt for a monthly. Not sure if you can do that or not. Also not sure how many would tie in a month long contest. Maybe run it weekly for a month.

How about something along the lines of Shots in from 25-49 yards. You could do it as a percentage to even the field with the casual players.

I'm trying to come up with different formats. (I got nothing better to do at work) I'll figure some stuff out and post here later.

How 'bout this. My details will probably be somewhat sketchy, but the general idea is there.

Something along the lines of a point based promotion. Where 1 month (or two week period) you can accumulate points based on eagles. Then the next period you accumulate points based on birdies, then the next period can be whatever stat that is currently trackable and so on. I guess you could even throw bogies or pars in there, or long drive / putt, or best score / best average score. There would just have to be a way to assign points to each task.

Perhaps something like a baseball roto league where the best receives x points where x equals the number of participants and then subtract 1 point for each person below.

ETA: I think this could be used for SSB also. Never played BBH competitively, so I have no idea how that game scores.
